Let's review: It's a cult!
Christ, that pic of the girls with borg bags makes me sick.
isnt nice to see the governing body being so humble, meek and not seeking their own importance?.

Let's review: It's a cult!
Christ, that pic of the girls with borg bags makes me sick.
LOL.
sent the following to my jw friends and contacts.
thought you might enjoy the read!.....
anyone who is willing to have 8 kids deserves a medal!.
Christ, my dyslexia must be getting worse I thought it said "my medical massage" on 1st glance and my interest was piqued...
a close friend of mine who is pimo (only staying in for family reasons) in a neighboring congregation called me in tears tonight saying her dad (elder) is telling her he is seriously considering reporting her to her local elders and she could get disfellowshipped.. the reason?
because she is complicit in a gross sin, according to him, by going with her best friend (not a j.w.
) when the friend had an abortion.
How did anyone find out that she'd done this? If it came from the daughter herself then she really is quite stupid.
H'mm nothing culty about this at all is there....
lets play a fun game?.
we all know that as witnesses, we were constantly told to read the bible, and ask ourselves what the passage we read reveals about god.. as an example, here is a wt that highlights this.. may 2016 wt study edition "benefit fully from jehovah's provisions".
8 ask questions.
When I read the bible without Watchtarded blinkers on i came to the conclusion Bible Gawd is an asshole.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0qpoelk2r4.
the dad in this is a total douche.
i dont know if the videos have become more judgemental and culty in the year since i left - or maybe im just noticing it more?.
I refuse to click on Watchtard propaganda.
I let someone else take one for the team and tell me how bad it was instead.
for background, read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/yahweh, the section, "iron age i: el, yahweh, and the origins of israel.
" "el and his sons made up the assembly of the gods, each member of which had a human nation under his care, and a textual variant of deuteronomy 32:8–9 describes the sons of el, including yahweh, each receiving his own people.
"el, the kind, the compassionate,' 'the creator of creatures,' was the chief of the canaanite gods, and he, not yahweh, was the original 'god of israel'—the word 'israel' is based on the name el rather than yahweh.
@ the OP, yes it appears so.
3 missed calls from my jw brother last night.
i didnt answer because he's actively shunning me and when he does ring it always to preach to me about how we're so close to the end and how i should "humble myself before the mighty hand of god" .
he then texts me saying "we need to talk".
What has got them so worked up?
there's a jw 'sister' at work, lovely girl in her mid twenties.
anyway, on monday the union (cwu) called a one day strike in support of colleagues and all union members supported the action as far as i'm aware, except the sister.. she claimed it was 'against her religion' to strike.
bare in mind, she's a fee paying member of the union.. now, a few of my workmates know of my past and asked me if this was really true, that jehovah's witnesses aren't allowed to strike.. we'll, i like this girl and i didn't want to make her look silly but what was i supposed to say after i stopped laughing?
Actually scratch that, thinking about it again (and it was a long while ago) it was the automatic part of the fee that went to the Labour party that I opted out of not the CWU membership itself, so chances are you are absolutely correct in your assumption.
(Backs away slowly from the thread and hopes no one notices....)
